Ma'iingan

Ma'iingan

In Ojibwe culture, ma'iingan (the wolf) was an inseparable companion to first man before they were ordered by the creator to go their different ways. I think that people can still see the wild in themselves when they look at the wolf, and there is a definite kindred spirit in these two social hunters that makes a lot of sense out of both the fear and the attraction many people feel towards wolves.
