I was originally inspired by Harris hawks, who stack themselves naturally while hunting. It was such a fun, silly looking behavior I decided to do a series of 'bird stacks', each featuring birds within a related family. They are vaguely reminiscent of totem poles or tree designs - both fitting for the birds and their 'family trees'.
